The first day of classes for the upcoming school year for students who attend Alma d’ arte Charter High School is Wednesday, July 21.
A community open house is planned from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, July 30, allowing families to take tours, talk with other students, and visit with teachers and staff.
This year the school is expending class choices including dance, theater/drama, Spanish, sculpture, advanced culinary/baking, poetry and botany/gardening, said Dan Lere, the newly appointed interim principal, and CEO.
Alma d’ arte will continue to offer dual-credit courses, in collaboration with Dona Ana Community College and New Mexico State University. There are also advanced placement courses, he added.
Lere said another open house and ice cream social will be held after the school year is underway. On Saturday, Aug, 17, visitors will be able to see what the school has to offer.
